This Tumblr is primarily a feed of my work for The Fly, where I am a staff writer, Drowned In Sound and The 405. My day job is as a reporter for the Dewsbury Reporter and Mirfield Reporter.

I have previously worked for Exposed and The Star in Sheffield, and at the Edinburgh Festivals for ThreeWeeks. As a student I was arts editor of Forge Press.

Dan Deacon @ Islington Mill, Salford, 28/9/2012 for The Fly

You know when you go see a band and you leave thinking “well, that was fun,” because the guitarist played well and they did all your favourites and maybe you had a little bit of a dance and a sing-along? Well you’re wrong. That’s not really fun. Not like going to see Dan Deacon is fun, because going to see Dan Deacon is more fun than you will ever have when you’re not at a Dan Deacon gig.
