This Tumblr is primarily a feed of my work for The Fly, where I am a staff writer, Drowned In Sound and The 405. My day job is as a reporter for the Dewsbury Reporter and Mirfield Reporter.

I have previously worked for Exposed and The Star in Sheffield, and at the Edinburgh Festivals for ThreeWeeks. As a student I was arts editor of Forge Press.

Wet Nuns / John J Presley / Drenge @ The Packhorse, Leeds, 21/9/2012 for The Fly

Forget Louisiana and Mississippi – if tonight is anything to go by, Yorkshire is the real home of the blues in 2012. Where else can you go to hear three of the noisiest blues acts around, if not the upstairs of a pub just outside Leeds city centre?
