Deep time is a geological concept that’s been used to establish that the Earth, roughly speaking, is about 4.54 billion years old. For starters, that makes Deep Time a pretty cool band name for the Texan duo formerly known as Yellow Fever. Now two albums, and one name-change-prompted-by-a-lawsuit into their career, Jennifer Moore and Adam Jones are making music that’s far from prehistoric. Their sound is pointedly modern (in a 1980s sort of way…).
