We’d love to say that they don’t make them like Milk Maid anymore but they do. You know the type of band we mean – power chords picked up from Kurt Cobain’s journals, solos you can trace back to a teenage Jimmy Page obsession and slacker sensibilities so sincerely studied they make Stephen Malkmus look like he’s the industrious Bill Gates of North American indie. It’s been a popular package for the last twenty years, but at least with Milk Maid you get the sense that they aren’t just another band wishing they could have had their songs played on US college radio in 1995.
